Cristina Monge

Political scientist and professor of sociology at the University of Zaragoza (Spain)
She specializes in sustainability and democratic quality, particularly governance for the ecological transition—areas she develops through her work with research centers such as Globernance, BC3, and itdUPM, as well as through her roles on the boards of Ecodes and Fundesplai. She is also a member of the advisory board of Llorente y Cuenca and Ethic magazine. Since 2018 she has participated in the Open Government Forum, since 2019 in the Development Cooperation Advisory Council, and since its creation in the methodological advisory group of the Spanish Government’s accountability project Cumpliendo.
Cristina is the author of 15M: Un movimiento político para democratizar la sociedad (2017), and co-editor of Tras la indignación. 15M: Miradas desde el presente (2021). She co-authored Hackear la Política (2018) with Raúl Oliván, and La Iniciativa Social de Mediación de los conflictos del agua en Aragón (2019) with JJ Verón. She is also co-editor of the collection Más Cultura Política, Más Democracia in collaboration with Gedisa, and currently serves as President of the association Más Democracia.
